Biography of Romina Power:

 

Romina Power has been an iconic Italian-American actress, singer and activist. She was born in Los Angeles, on 2nd October, 1951,  to a glamorous film family as the eldest daughter of American actor Tyrone Power and Mexican actress Linda Christian. As the daughter of Hollywood star Tyrone Power, she grew up in a privileged environment.  Romina Power’s debut into films was as a teenager when she started appearing in some of her father’s films. Her first film appearance was at the age of twelve only. After acting in several films, her focus shifted to another are genre, that is music. She was greatly influenced musically by Bob Dylan and The Beatles.

Biography of Al Bano:

 

Albano Antonio Carrisi, popularly known as Al Bano, was born on 20th May, 1943, in Cellino San Marco, Italy. His father Carmelo Carrisi was an Italian Army man and mother Iolanda Ottino was a homemaker. Since his teenage, Al Bano was a great singer. He debuted as a professional singer in 1966. His early hits include “La Siepe” and “Nel Sol.” The later song won Gold Disc in 1968.

The story of how Al Bano and Romina Power met, fell in love, and created some of the best-ever music is a beautiful one. They first met in the early 1960s when Al Bano was singing at a local night club. Romina Power was a patron of the club and she was so impressed by Al Bano’s voice that she asked him to sing for her private party. What followed was a long and successful collaboration as Al Bano and Romina Power released eleven albums together between 1974 and 1985.

After their marriage in 1970, Al Bano and Romina Power released eleven studio albums together, most notably Felicità (1974), Sharazan (1975), and Aria Pura (1985). These albums brought the duo success in their home country of Italy, as well as recognition on a global scale. They represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with the song We’ll Live It All Again, but finished in seventh place behind UK entry Brotherhood of Man. But the score was so popular that the song in was recorded in Spanish and in French, as “Viviremos todo de nuevo” and “T’aimer encore une fois“, respectively. Then the duo went on to make several recordings in French, including hits “Des nuits entières” and “Enlacés sur le sable“. Following their Eurovision disappointment, the duo took a break from recording, but eventually regained the public’s interest with the release of their album Miserere (1988).
